Cuttin’ and Stampin’ DT call 2014

Cuttin' and Stampin's is having a DT call, and I thought I would throw my hat in the ring.  I miss the pressure of deadlines that get the creative juices flowing and plus they sell dies (I am so excited about this part).  I have been scrapping since 2007 after daughter was born (my husband actually suggested it, LOL) and now she is 7 and likes to scrapbook with me.

Thank you Sensei

I made this card for my daughters awesome Karate Sensei, he leads the Karate for Christ program in our area and despite some setbacks to the program from outsiders he has never given up on his passion. They have almost 100 people in the program right now and its a great ministry which has seen a huge growth.  The amount of time he spends teaching the kids and then training the leaders is astounding (3 nights a week for several hours).  My husband started as a leader this year and since I don't know karate this was my contribution (plus we wanted to let him know how much we appreciate his passion and dedication)

On the inside I stamped a Unity Sentiment and cut it out but I loved this little karate girl stamp and this was the perfect use for it.

Supplies used: Unity Stamps, MFT Stamps, EP PAper, Distress Ink

Use your scraps challenge

I made this birthday card for the Cuttin' and Stampin' use your scraps challenge.  It's hard to believe that my beautiful niece is turning one, but she is (cant' believe how time flies).  This card is made entirely from scraps including the card base (it was left over from the snow flakes on the gift card holders).  I made about 4 different butterflies before settling on this one,  it didn't seem right to emboss, or ink it, just seemed better plain, even though CAS is not my thing I just went with what works.

Gift Card Holder with Tutorial

Where does the time go?  I can't believe that Christmas is almost here, but at least I am almost done my shopping.  I actually hate the crowded malls so I try to start early, but with the kids getting older I am running out of places to hide things.  One of the last things I get are gift cards for the kids teachers, etc.  but while I know they are appreciated they just are not as fun for me to give.  That is why I like to make these gift card holders to put them in.  This way I can add that personal touch that I feel is sometimes missing from a gift card.  I stamped a sentiment on the inside but still left room to write a personalized message for the recipient.

Volunteer Thank You

I made these cards to go with a small gift that I will be giving to the volunteers in the Preschool Class I teach at church.  I will post the gift after this week (no sneak peaks) but I wanted to make a nice thank you card to go with the gift to let them know how appreciated they are.  I love teaching the 2 and 3 year olds but lets be honest it can be a challenging age group and these are people who actually want to be there and I can't thank them enough for making a difference in the life of a small child.

Gate Fold Card

This is a quick gate fold card I made for my daughter's lunch.  She loves getting little cards in her lunch and it gives me a way to use up some scraps.  I bought this set from Unity to specifically make cards for lunches as it just seemed like the perfect set.
